simplifying your life

hello,

happy monday! another week, another blog! this week i want to talk about a few ways we can simplify our lives!!! I actually started reading this book that focuses a lot on unhurrying our lives recommended by just about everyone in my house and the church i attend. this book is called the ruthless elimination of hurry by john mark comer.

It is so easy to have a scattered mind and even be overwhelmed by all of these things running through your head or feel like you have a lot that you need to do or need to cross of of your to do list. i have presented a few ways we can simplify our lives in the list below. what is simplifying or unhurrying you might ask? It is getting rid of any extra mental and physical clutter to create some room for things that genuinely matter to you or to create more time to focus on intentionality with Jesus and people. in addition to starting the ruthless elimination of hurry, i also watched a youtube video by ashlynne eaton which she collaborated with another youtuber, meghan livingstone. I also referred to a couple of other sites/blogs for some additional ideas as well as come up with my own. i will list the others at the end of this blog post.

  1. Make bed daily

  2. Write down three gratitudes each morning

  3. Set timers on your apps (this will make you spend less time on your phone throughout the day)

  4. Spend 5 minutes deleting unnecessary images on your photos app

  5. Bring a water bottle with you wherever you go (this way, you can consumer more water throughout the day)

  6. Unfollow instagram accounts that are not adding value to your life

  7. Meal prep (will guide you in eating healthier)

  8. Clean dishes as you are cooking (will make the clean up process later less overwhelming)

  9. Hang clothes immediately, don’t just throw your coat on a couch

  10. Turn off notifications (other than the necessary texts and phone calls)

  11. Unsubscribe from unwanted emails

  12. Develop morning and night routines

  13. Write things down in a journal, your feelings, thoughts, struggles

  14. Make a to do list for the following day each night

  15. Plan your workouts

  16. Edit your rooms, if you were to package up some things as if you were moving, get rid of the things you wouldn’t pull back out to declutter

  17. Spend time alone - reading books, your bible, praying, singing, doing whatever makes you happy

  18. Eat slowly, it’s healthier for you

  19. Clear your desk

  20. Have a place for everything

  21. In warmer weather, try to bike places rather than drive, saving you gas money and healing the planet

  22. Go for quality, not quantity

  23. Live in the moment

  24. Establish routines

  25. Learn what “enough” looks like

Here are just a few ways to simplify your life.

thank you for reading, thank you for loving one another. <3
