hiiiiii! how are you? happy monday! it is the start of week four of the semester for me and it is so easy to get overwhelmed and stressed so i thought it would be fun to write about some of my favorite self care activities to de stress or just simply be kind to my body!

  1. turn off my phone, unplug - i try to do this for at least an hour a day. eventually, i would like to completely unplug every sunday in honor of the sabbath but i am still trying to figure out what i want that to look like. (if you haven't read the ruthless elimination of hurry, do it! it has amazing perspective and encourages to unplug and unhurry)

  2. read a good book - i have recently gotten into reading and it has just been so so good. i usually start off my mornings reading my bible, and follow it by reading 30 minutes or so in the book i am currently reading. it has been a great way to slow down and learn new things.

  3. drink hot tea - i do not do this as often as i would like, but when i do, i always feel so relaxed and cozy when i have a cup of hot tea.

  4. get a massage - although spendy, it is always one of my favorite ways to relax and unwind after a tough semester of school, or when i was in high school, after a sports season!

  5. paint your nails a fun color - there is something different and fun about painting your nails! i usually stick to the typical grey, black, or white which is my absolute favorite, but when it is a bright color, it is just a different kind of feel good.

  6. get a facial - this one is also spendy, but these ladies at the spa know what they are doing and really pay attention to what is best for my skin! i love this!

  7. white strips - you can find these at your local walmart or target.

  8. write in your gratitude journal - practicing gratitude is one of my favorite ways to be joyful. there is so much to be thankful for and i don't want take these daily blessings for granted.

  9. read your bible! - reading your bible is a great way to grow your relationship with jesus, as well as understand the life he lived, why he died on the cross, and how we are called to share the love of him because of his love for us.

  10. worship with jesus - I LOVE WORSHIP. worship is such a sweet and special way to glorify God.

  11. get into your comfiest clothes - i am 90% of the time in my comfiest clothes. being cozy is probably my favorite thing in the world. besides, when i don't have some thick socks on, my feet always get so so cold!

  12. spend intentional time with a friend - unplug your phone, go for a drive, go shopping, sit in a coffee shop, play card games, watch a movie, whatever that might look like for you, spending intentional time with a friend is such a sweet feeling and a fun way to share the love of jesus with someone.

  13. cook your fav meal - okay okay, i am not the best cook, but lately, i have been loooooving these tacos for just about every single lunch and dinner. and let me just say, i have been practicing some good young self care in the form of cooking my fav meal.

  14. dance! - turn on some music, grab your roommates, and just dance. that's all!

  15. face mask - i personally don't use face masks anymore because it makes my face break out, but this is a very relaxing self care activity

  16. try a new craft - my recent favorite is embroidery. i am not going to lie, this one is incredibly time consuming, but such a cute craft!

  17. stretch - stretching is a great way to increase flexibility, but also, to simply de stress. stretching can decrease any pain you may be experiencing in certain areas of your body.

  18. go for a walk - early in the morning, birds chirping, maybe some soft music in the background, or a nice podcast, the best!

  19. go to bed early - this one! i rarely go to bed early, but what a great way to feel refreshed the next day, am i right!

  20. journal - this one is a great one! some people have a hard time expressing their feelings, so simply writing them down is a great way to not only explain how you are feeling, but also, anything that you have been holding on to that you aren't sure how to quite talk about or address.

thank you so much for checking out some of my favorite self care activities. i hope you enjoyed it. let me know which were your favorites or comment some that i may not have mentioned!
